As part of 10th Annual National Rural Health Day in November, 2020, Brodstone Memorial Hospital was recognized by the National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health (NOSORH) as the 2020 Nebraska Community Star. The award recognizes individuals, organizations and coalitions making a positive impact in rural communities.
Brodstone Memorial Hospital was recognized by the The Chartis Center of Rural Health and the National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health (NOSORH) for overall excellence in Quality and Patient Perspective in 2020. Brodstone also received the award for Outcomes in 2016, Quality in 2017, 2018, 2019, and Patient Perspective in 2016 and 2018.
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) awarded Brodstone Memorial Hospital with 5 Stars in Patient Experience when they published their list in August, 2020. This makes Brodstone a Double 5 Star winner, Quality and Patient Experience.
Brodstone Memorial Hospital is a Top 10 recipient of the 2020 Rural Provider Excellence in Quality Award from the Nebraska Office of Rural Health. The 2020 “Rural Provider Excellence in Quality Award” recognizes Top 10 overall performance in quality among Nebraska’s 64 Critical Access Hospitals.
Brodstone Memorial Hospital has been named a 2020 Top 20 Critical Access Hospital (CAH) by The Chartis Center for Rural Health. The rankings were announced by the National Rural Health Association(NRHA).
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has awarded Brodstone Memorial Hospital 5 stars in quality. This is the highest rating awarded. This was award to Brodstone in 2015 & 2020.
Brodstone Memorial Hospital is listed in the Top 100 Critical Access Hospital by iVantage and The Chartis Group. Hospitals who have achieved success in the overall performance is based on a composite rating from pillars of strength which include quality, outcomes, patient perspective, and financial efficiency. Brodstone has received this award ten times, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021.

April Perrie, Director of Dietary
April is a very dedicated employee and is someone you can always count on. You can tell that she truly cares for our patients and employees. She is compassionate and is always willing to go above and beyond for others. April has taken on a lot of responsibility in her role over the past year, and has worked tirelessly to expand and improve her department. She is always ready and willing to assist with special meals for the staff, patients and hospital events. We are very fortunate to have such a generous, innovative, creative and hardworking employee here at Brodstone.

Julie Krotzinger, RN, BSN, Director of Specialty Clinic
Julie is very dedicated to our patients and staff. She let’s patients know that she truly cares about them and their experience at Brodstone. As the manager of the Specialty Clinic, she is always looking for anything that can be done to improve the experience for our patients and providers. Julie’s values of teamwork and integrity are very high, she works well with her staff and has compassion for everyone. She is willing to go above and beyond to help out any department in the facility. Julie is truly a great example of our mission, vision and values at Brodstone.

Chantel Andersen, LPN
Chantel is one of the most compassionate nurses you will meet. She is always one of the first to help with anything no matter how busy she is. She goes above and beyond for her patients and always makes sure they have what they need. She has done extra training to become a bigger part of the nursing team and to help out the community. She is the first person to pick up an extra shift and she is great at making the workplace fun and less stressful. We are so grateful to have such a generous and caring person on our Brodstone team.

Dulce is someone who is always willing to go above and beyond what is asked of her. She never hesitates to cover sick calls, to stay late, come early, or to help wherever she is needed. She is highly organized and has an eye for detail. She is a professional and versatile employee who takes great pride in the work she does. She advocates for her patients and will do anything to assist her peers. She has a fun personality and is a really enjoyable person to work with. Dulce is a huge asset to the nursing department and to Brodstone. She truly demonstrates Brodstone’s values through her teamwork and compassion.

Molly Rempe, RN, MSN, OB Coordinator
Molly Rempe was chosen by her peers as the 2020 Employee of the Year. Molly is a perfect example of our Mission, Vision and Values. She works to fill in the gaps in the schedule and takes a lot of OB call to cover the department. She displays a level of professional maturity that makes for a great leader. She treats everyone with respect and compassion; her patients love her. Molly advocates for her patients and her teammates. It is so reassuring to know that our facility has someone like Molly to provide care to our patients.
Molly has been a part of the Brodstone family for 8 years, and in the position of OB Coordinator for the last 5 years. Molly teaches Parenting Classes to expectant moms and dads and counsels moms on breast feeding.
