Brodstone's First 2019 Baby

First baby of 2019 born at Brodstone Memorial Hospital is Rhett John Krotzinger.  He made First Baby 3019his appearance on January 11, 2019, weighing in at 7 pounds, 22 inches long.  Welcoming Rhett into the world are proud parents Eric and Julie Krotzinger and big sister Blaise.  Grandparents include Kyle and Diane Krotzinger of Superior, Joe and Pam Wehrman of Nelson.  Great grandparents include Frank and Dee Krotzinger, Mildred Lemke, Fritz Wehrman and Russ Snyder.

The first baby of the year received some books from Brodstone Memorial Hospital and a quilt made by Loose Threads Sewing Circle.  The sewing group’s members include Sandy Larkey, Dorothy Alexander, Nancy Sauvageau and Angel Elledge. 

In 2018, 33 babies were born at Brodstone, 18 boys and 15 girls.  It was amazing that the boy/girl ratio was so close by year end as 2018 started with 9 boys out of the first 10 babies.  Then there were 8 girls out of the next 10 babies.  Brodstone’s busiest month was October with 8, followed by 5 in January and 5 in February.  There were no babies born at Brodstone in April, June and December.  The ten year average for babies born at Brodstone is 35.  In 2017 there were 25 babies, 36 in 2016 and 41 in 2015.
